It’s difficult to watch friends and colleagues struggle to transition from their hard-driving, fulltime careers to retirement. While many had saved their whole lives for retirement, few had planned how they would actually live.
The Flying Forward Coaching Process helps you explore your dreams, plans and feelings about retirement – so you can enjoy it.
Assess
You’ll begin by taking the Retirement Success Profile, an online questionnaire that help identify your feelings about retirement. After the assessment, I’ll analyze the results and report my initial impressions in a call or email. I may have some powerful questions for you, addressing the largest issues present. Other assessment tools, including the Life Options Profile, may be recommended to help explore your retirement options.
Understand
From there, we will meet for 2-5 coaching sessions, and go deeper into your specific areas that need to be addressed and resolved, but also your concerns, questions, and other issues that come up. The coaching sessions vary for each client, depending on the nature of their results and their openness to a fruitful discourse.
Take Flight
Finally, a synopsis of your whole experience, with general and specific recommendations, will be offered. A follow up recommended for two years prior to retirement.
Change is hard. And retirement brings a major lifestyle change for many people. If you’ve been happy and busy with your job and/or your family, you may not have stopped to think about what retirement will really look like. How will you spend your days? Are you worried about the loss of your identity when you’re no longer working? Or have you had so little time to yourself while working that you wonder what you’ll do with the time?
With over 10,000 people retiring each day in the U.S., and living another 25-30 years, it is imperative that people consider what that life is going to hold for them and how they can make the transition as purposeful and calm as possible.
